For Public Information, the translated letter of nomination-appoinment of Dave Ceasar Dela Cruz as Vice-Postulator of the cause for Canonization of Blessed Ivan Merz is hereby presented to all:

His Holiness, Pope John Paul II, beatified Ivan Merz, lay person from Croatia, of the Diocese of Banja Luka, last June 22, 2003, and still the Cause for Canonization continues. With the many works around the position of the Postulator that could delay the performance of the said cause, with the authority given to me by the Archbishop of Zagreb, Cardinal Francisco Kuharic on June 18, 1986 and approved and recognized by the Congregation of the Causes of Saints on November 21, 1986, you:

whose credentials and integrity are well known to us and through the testimony and recommendation of your local Ordinary, Most Rev. Honesto F. Ongtioco, D.D., Bishop of Cubao, which he sent to us last February 4, 2008, with this signed document we hereby constitute and appoint you as legitimate:

Giving you all the authority which is necessary to exercise the ministry of Vice-Postulator of the said cause for canonization.

With this we also send the information which you need for those ecclesial authorities that need such acknowledgement.
